Originally founded in 1879 by Frank Shaw , this Redditch based company commenced selling quality hardware items in the UK
Patented in the early 1900’s the X brand Wall Hook, a timeless design that continues to be manufactured today...
1903-1925
An early price list shows scissors, corkscrews and even pistols listed for sale!
In 1925 Frank Shaw retires and is replaced by Mr W. A. Scholes as Director, a family that remains at the helm until 2017
establishing the company brands.
1940
Supplied in millions an upholstery nail in the blackout war effort bringing the famous ‘Challenge’ and ‘Bayonet’ brands into every home!
Whilst already familiar brands in UK homes this era cemented the company's status as a supplier of good quality products despite supply issues during the second world war
1975
Company is incorporated and becomes Frank Shaw(Bayonet) Ltd
Branding began to change as the ranges grew and became consolodated, heading towards the Blue/Yellow styling that is incorporated today
2017-2023
Stephen Juby becomes the 3rd owner in 140+ years and expands brand globally into Europe, Africa, Australia & NZ
